Facing continuous increases in their monthly Hydro bills, these customers looked to subsidize their own electricity usage by taking part in the Net Metering program. Installing solar capacity and feeding it directly into their home, these customers use their own generated energy first, before buying any electricity from Hydro One in Ontario. With a sub-optimal roof orientation for their building, it was decided that a ground mount installation was the ideal solution to get solar power up and running on their property.

With a total of 6kW of panels installed, this system is expected to make a major dent in their bills with an expected yearly production of over 7000kWh of generated energy, and additional room to expand in the future!

Top of Pole ground mount installations are an excellent alternative when a building’s roof is not suitable for solar, either due to lack of southern facing roof space, poor exposure from trees and obstacles, too shallow or overly steep roof pitch, insufficient useable roof area, or simply due to preferred aesthetics.

Luckily, top of pole mount systems allow for solar power to be installed at a specific & preferred location. The array tilt are seasonally adjustable to get the most year-round power from the sun, and far easier to de-snow on those exceptionally heavy snowfall winters. Rather than snaking the transmission cable through roof spaces and down walls, the armored cable is safely buried below ground on its travel between the array and your building.

Available in various sizes ranging from 2 to 12 panels per structure, along with multiple methods of securing the arrays upright, these Top of Pole Mount solar systems provide convenience and efficiency for both grid-tied and off-grid systems.
